Annavaram

Annavaram is at a distance of 72 kms from Rajahmundry, 124km from Visakhapatnam and 498 kms from Hyderabad and it is a sacred pilgrim centre on a hill top known as Ratnagiri. The presiding deity at Annavaram is Veeravenkata Satyanarayana Swamy. It is believed when Vrata is performed in the name of Satyanarayana Swamy by devotees, their wishes will be fulfilled.

One of the most popular temples in Andhra Pradesh, a unique Yantra based on Tripad Vibhuti Narayan Upanishad exists here. The shrine is constructed in two storey, the lower one containing the Yantra and upper one housing vigrahas of the Lord.

It is estimated on an average about one lakh Vratas are performed here every year by couples generally. Marriages, thread marriages (upanayanam) are performed in large number. Chief festival days are Bhishma Ekadasi (Jan/Feb) and Kalyanotsavam, Vysakha Ekadasi (Apr/May) are important. It is situated on the banks of river pampa about 3 km from Annavaram.

Suggested Itinerary for Annavaram

Mumbai - Hyderabad - Warangal - Vijaywada - Kakinara - Annavaram - Vishakhapatnam - Gopalpur - puri - Bhubneshwar - Calcutta(14 Nights / 15 Days)

Day 01 : Arrive Mumbai

On arrival transfer to the domestic airport to board flight for Hyderabad. Arrive Hyderabad and transfer to prebooked hotel. In the afternoon, half day city tour of Hyderabad. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02 : Hyderabad- Warangal

On arrival transfer to the domestic airport to board flight for Hyderabad. Arrive Hyderabad and transfer to prebooked hotel. In the afternoon, half day city tour of Hyderabad. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03 : Warangal -Vijaywada

After breakfast, visit the 1000 pillar and fort ruins at Warangal. Also visit the Carpet industry in Warangal. Later drive to Vijayawada visiting the following places :
Warangal - Ramappa (1214 A.D. Temple) 75 kms Ramappa-Warrangal-Pillalamarri (11th Cent. Temple) 150 kms Pillalamarri-Vijayawada 125 kms
Arrive Vijayawada and checkin at prebooked hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 04 : Vijaywada

Visit Kanakadurga Temple. Also visit the following places
Vijayawada-Amravati (Largest stupa in the world and Hindu temple) 70 kms
Amravati - Mangalagiri (Narasimha Temple) 40 kms
Mangalagiri-Undavalli (7th century caves) 10 kms
Undavalli-Vijayawada (Visit Victoria Museum) 8 kms
Vijayawada-Kondapalli (16th Century fort & toy makers) 18 kms
After visiting Kondapalli, return to Vijayawada. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 05 : Vijayawada -Kakinara

After breakfast, leave for Kakinara. The days programms is as under:

Vijayawada-Rajamundry 190 kms
Rajamundry-Draksharaman (Souther Benares/Varanasi) 40 kms
Draksharamam-Kakinara 17 kms

Arrive at the Port City of Kakinara and checkin at prebooked hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 06 : Kakinara - Annavaram

After breakfast, leave for Annavaram. Enroute visit Samalkot. Arrive Annavaram and checkin at prebooked hotel. Later visit the Swamy temple at Annavaram. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 07 : Annavaram - Vishakhapatnam

After breakfast, leave for Vishakhapatnam. Enroute visit the 7th century Buddhist Stupa at Sankaram. Arrive Vishakhapatnam and checkin at prebooked hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 08 : Vishakhapatnam

After breakfast visit the 11th century Narasimha Temple at Simhachalam (70 kms) and the Borra caves (90 kms). Overnight at the hotel.

Day 09 : Vishakhapatnam - Gopalpur on Sea 240 kms

After breakfast, leave for Gopalpur on Sea. Arrive Gopalpur on Sea and Checkin at prebooked hotel. Rest of the day - at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 : Gopalpur on Sea

At leisure on the beach. After breakfast, leave for Puri. Arrive Puri and checkin at prebooked hotel. Afternoon, visit Puri. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11 : Puri

Day return excursion to Konark. Visit the famous Sun temple at Konark. Return to Puri for overnight stay. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 12 : Puri - Bhubhaneshwar

After breakfast, leave for Bhubhaneshwar. Arrive Bhubhaneshwar and checkin at prebooked hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 13 : Bhubhaneshwar

Full day city tour of Bhubhaneshwar. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 14 : Bhubhaneshwar - Kolkata

After breakfast transfer to airport to board flight for Calcutta. Arrive Calcutta and transfer to prebooked hotel. In the afternoon, half day city tour of Calcutta. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 15 : Leave Kolata

Transfer to the international airport to board your flight back home.
