Bageshwar

Nestled amidst misty hills, at the confluence of the Gomti and saryu rivers,
the holy township of Bageshwar is a prominent Shivaite shrine. As described
in the Puranas, this is the ultimate place that liberates one from the
bondage of birth and death. At a height of 960 mtrs. Above the sea level,
this holy place has attracted saints and sages through the ages, by it's
spiritual magnetism.
Acording to belief, Bageshwar is blessed by Lord Shiva. During
Shivaratri (March), Shivaratri fair is held here, which attracts
thousands of devotees from far and near.
Apart from it's religious importance, Bageshwar is a trekker's
paradise. It's the entry point to the trekking routes to Pindari,
Kafni and Sundardunga glaciers.
Places to Visit
Bagnath Temple
At the very heart of the town, this temple complex has a cluster
of many temples, the most prominent of them being Bhairav, dattatreya,
Ganga Mata, Hanuman, Durga, Kalika, Thingal Bhairav and Vaneswar
Temples.
Chandika Temple
At a distance of 1.5 kms from Bageshwar, this beautiful temple
dedicated to Goddess Chandika stands atop a mountain. Every year
thousands of devotees congregate here to offer obeisance to the
deity, during the Navratras.
Gauri Udiyar
A huge cave, at a distance of 8 kms., houses the idol of Lord
Shiva.
Shri Haru Temple
Another important hill temple, at a distance of about 5 kms, form
Bageshwar. A large fair is held here on Vijaya Dashmi.

How to get There
The nearest airport is Pant Nagar, at a distance of 206 kms. The
Nearest raihead is Kathgodam, 180 kms.
Bageshwar is well connected by roads with all the major towns
of the area. Taxis are available from Almora (90 kms.), Nainital
(137 kms.), Kathgodam (180 kms.) and Pant Nagar (206 kms). The
nearest major town is Chaukori (47 kms).

Day 1 - Delhi - Corbett
Early morning you will drive to the Corbett National Park, one of the finest habitats of the Tiger in India. On arrival check into hotel/jungle lodge. In the afternoon embark on a jungle safari into the park to view wildlife. Overnight stay.
Note: The park remains closed from mid June to mid November for the monsoon.
Day 02 Jungle Safari Corbett / Ranikhet
In the morning embark on another jungle safari inside the park. Later, you will drive to Ranikhet, the "Queen’s Field", which was selected as a hill station for British troops. On arrival check into hotel/resort. Rest of the day is at leisure to explore the scenic surroundings of this popular resort from where one gets an awe-inspiring view of the majestic Himalayas. You have the option of visiting the 9-hole golf course at Upat, which is surrounded by pine trees. Overnight stay.
Day 03 Ranikhet / Kausani
This morning drive to Kausani, nature’s own paradise nestling among dense pine forests and known for its breathtaking view of the Himalayan snow-capped peaks standing in a stately row of over 300kms. On arrival check into the hotel/resort. Rest of the day is at leisure to soak in the beauty of the surrounding area. Eulogised by poets and philosophers, it is an ideal place to spend a quiet holiday in the lap of nature and to just relax. One can still see the remains of a Tea Estate developed by the British. Don’t miss the sunset and sunrise views over the Himalayan peaks. Overnight stay.
Day 04 Kausani / Bageshwar / Almora
This morning drive to Almora en route visiting first the Baijnath temple situated on the banks of River Gomti and then the pilgrim town of Bageshwar that lies at the confluence of the Gomti and Saryu rivers. Continue drive to Almora and check into hotel/resort. Rest of the day is at leisure to explore this charming mountain resort its bazaars, wooden houses with beautifully carved facades, various Buddhist and Hindu temples, Churches and viewpoints. Overnight stay.
Day 05 Almora / Lake Tour / Nainital
This morning drive to Nainital en route touring the lakes of Bhim Tal, Naukuchiya Tal (the 9-cornered lake) and Sat Tal, a beautiful spot having a cluster of lakelets amidst oak forests, which is often compared to the Westmoreland of England. Arrive in Nainital and check into hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 06 In Nainital
Day is at leisure to explore this popular hill station of charming locales and elegant villas nestling in wooded slopes, situated around a lake. Activities to indulge in include boating and yachting on the Naini Lake, horse riding, cable-car ride, rock climbing and hiking. Visit the Naina Devi temple located on the bank of the lake and shop at the bazaars for local handicrafts. Overnight stay.
Day 07 Nainital / Delhi
This morning drive back to Delhi.
